The images shown here were photographed in Wünsdorf-Waldstadt, Germany. A city located 40 km outside of Berlin.
During the Cold War, it functioned as the largest Soviet army base in Eastern Europe, earning it the nickname "Little Moscow."
The locals referred to it as "The Forbidden City" as East Germans were not permitted to enter.
I witnessed a forgotten place filled with remnants of Soviet officers and their families.
A reminder of human intervention and absence in spaces long abandoned.
